If you need help right now

Yourni is not a crisis service and cannot get help to you. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number — 112 across the EU, including the Czech Republic.

In the Czech Republic, Linka první pomoci 116 123 is free, confidential and answered around the clock. Elsewhere, your national health service or a local crisis line will have an equivalent.

If you'd rather talk to a person you know, that counts too. Yourni is meant to sit alongside that, not instead of it.

Your API key

Yourni talks to an AI model, and it runs on an API key from Anthropic or OpenAI. You paste it on the first screen and it is stored in your device's keychain. It is never sent to a Yourni server, because there isn't one: the app talks to the provider directly.

Whose key it is matters. Requests are processed under the account the key belongs to. With your own key, that's your account, on terms you agreed with the provider. If someone else gave you a key, the processing runs under their account instead: they can see how much it is used and what it costs, but not what you write. Conversation content isn't shown in a provider account.

The app says the key was rejected. Check you copied the whole thing, including the sk- prefix and with no trailing space. If it still fails, the key may have been revoked or the account behind it may be out of credit — check it with the provider, or issue a fresh key.

You want to use your own key. Settings → AI, paste any Anthropic or OpenAI API key; the app works out which provider it belongs to from the key itself. Usage is then billed to your account, on terms you've agreed with the provider directly, and none of it is visible to the developer.

You want to remove the key. Settings → AI → clear. The app has no key of its own to fall back on, so the assistant stops working until you enter another one. Everything you have already written stays on the device.

Your data

Everything you write — check-ins, talks, journal entries, the notes the assistant keeps so it can pick up where you left off — is stored only on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, and no copy on a server.

To delete it: clear your profile in Settings, or delete the app. Either removes the data from the device permanently. Because there is no server copy, there is nothing else to request and nothing left behind.

The one thing that does leave your phone is the content of a talk, which is sent to the AI provider so it can reply — under your own key and your own account with them. The privacy policy covers exactly what is sent and what your rights are.

Reporting a problem

In the app: Settings → report a problem. It prepares a diagnostics report and opens your mail app so you can read it before sending. Nothing is transmitted automatically, and you can delete anything from the message you'd rather not share.

Or just email monika.protivova@gmail.com and describe what happened. Your device model and iOS version help; a screenshot helps more.

What Yourni is, and isn't

Yourni asks how you're doing, briefly, most days, and builds a picture of how that changes over time — so a slow drift becomes visible before it becomes a crisis.

It does not diagnose, does not recommend treatment, and does not replace a psychologist, a doctor, or a friend. It is not a medical device. What it shows you is a record of what you've said, kept carefully enough that change is visible in it.
